Gelato Mio | Northridge Tenant Improvement

Transforming a cold shell into a fully operational food service venue requires rigorous coordination between design and code compliance. For Gelato Mio in Northridge, Razi Architects managed the entire Tenant Improvement (TI) process, from the initial Health Department plan check to the final construction administration.

The design challenge was to create a warm, inviting acoustic environment within a space dominated by hard, cleanable surfaces (required for food service). We solved this by integrating sound-dampening acoustic wall panels and preserved moss features to soften the noise reverberation. The layout prioritizes operational throughput, ensuring a seamless flow from the service counter to the seating area, maximizing customer capacity without overcrowding.
