Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) | Concourse C Expansion Interiors - Woods Bagot

Project Role: Interior Designer & FF&E Lead (Shahrzad Razi)

Scope: Design Development, Material Selection, Custom Millwork, and FF&E Specification for public amenities.

Expanding a major airport concourse goes beyond adding square footage; it requires creating moments of respite within a high-stress environment. For the SEA-TAC C Concourse Expansion, Shahrzad Razi led the interior design and detailing for key passenger amenities, focusing on inclusivity and durability.

Inclusive Design Strategy: Moving beyond standard code compliance, the design integrates specialized spaces for neurodiverse travelers, including a Sensory Room and a Meditation Room. These quiet zones utilize acoustic wood paneling, dimmable LED lighting, and soft forms to reduce sensory overload.

High-Traffic Performance: The restroom and storefront designs prioritize operational longevity. We specified commercial-grade materials—quartz surfacing, porcelain tile, and tamper-resistant fixtures—that can withstand 24/7 passenger traffic while maintaining a boutique hospitality aesthetic.
