Hunter Family Residence | Interior Architecture & Furnishings
For the Hunter Family residence, the interior design scope extended beyond surface finishes to include a comprehensive FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) package. Razi Architects curated a palette that balances durability for family life with high-end architectural detailing.
The Design Philosophy: Organic Tactility We moved away from stark minimalism, introducing layers of texture through handwoven jute rugs, faded velvet upholstery, and white oak custom millwork. The living room features a custom-designed fireplace surround with curved built-in shelving, transforming a standard wall into an architectural focal point.
Technical Coordination The design required precise coordination between the millwork shop drawings and the electrical plan to ensure integrated lighting within the shelving and accurate placement for wall-mounted fixtures. Every piece of furniture was selected for its scale and material performance, ensuring the home feels curated, not just 'furnished'.
Curated FF&E selection featuring a tan leather structural sofa and deep green velvet accent chairs. The material palette prioritizes high-performance fabrics that resist wear while maintaining a luxury hand-feel.
Architectural elevation of the custom fireplace wall. Features white oak arched shelving with integrated LED joinery lighting, designed to display the client's art collection.
Informal living room concept focusing on soft, rounded forms. The modular sectional sofa allows for flexible reconfiguration, while the boucle accent chairs add necessary textural contrast.
Dining room FF&E board showcasing a solid pedestal wood table anchored by a contemporary abstract rug. The sculptural lighting fixture serves as the room's centerpiece, lowering the visual scale for intimacy.
Custom children's joinery design featuring a built-in reading nook with integrated storage. The design utilizes durable laminates and soft beanbag seating to create a safe, playful environment that can evolve as the children grow.
